Hotel Shanker-Palatial Heritage Kathmandu occupies a 19th-century palace built in 1894 by General Jit Shumsher Rana, set on 2 hectares of landscaped grounds. The building survived major earthquakes and retains original arches, carved woodwork, and a grand Durbar Hall. Guests walk through corridors lined with period paintings and Jhumars, with an outdoor fireplace and garden furniture spread across the property.
